About the event
Jesus Christ Superstar (1971) is a rock opera set against the backdrop of an extraordinary and universally known series of events leading up to Jesus' crucifixion. Infused with the gritty, theatrical rock of the 1970s, the show follows the last week of Jesus Christ's life through the eyes of Judas Iscariot. Loosely based on the Gospels, Superstar focuses on the personal conflicts between Jesus, his disciples, the people of Israel, and the leadership of Rome. Special attention is also played to the fractured friendship between Judas Iscariot and Jesus, as well as Jesus's relationship with Mary Magdalene, a devoted follower. —from LondonTheater.co.uk
Rehearsals will be on Thursday May 1 (NCC), Friday May 2 6:30 (KCC) and May 8 6:30 (NCC).
